Burscough snatched all three points in added time following a gripping encounter filled with drama.

The visitors were good value for their win, despite the home side being reduced to nine men as the game reached its exciting conclusion.

Burscough took the lead on 32 minutes when the impressive Liam Caddick beat Dale Wright before finding the bottom corner.

However, their lead lasted barely two minutes as Sean Myler rolled the ball square for Kevin Leadbetter to fire just inside Calvin Hare’s right hand upright.

With the game finely balanced, Bloods defender Alex Frost saw red for a second bookable offence, and Droylsden were reduced to nine just a minute later when Ben Deegan raised an arm on Rees Welsh.

In the second minute of added time, Daniel Smith outpaced Wright before lofting the ball over the exposed Russ Saunders for the winner.
