EVOSTIK NPL Division One (North)

Saturday 22 August 2015

Droylsden soon put their mid-week horror show behind them to seek revenge on the Millers, who won the corresponding fixture las term.

The High Peak side arrived looking for their points win of the new campaign, but returned over the hills empty handed – despite the experience of Shaun Goater on their bench.

The hosts were soon into their stride, with Mike Koral converting from close range, but the Millers were back on level terms on ten minutes through former Blood, Ryan Hopper.

However, Droylsden were soon back in control and Mike Pino restored their lead five minutes before the break with a 25 yard screamer.

It was 3-1 before the hour mar, with Joe Cooper converting with the visiting defence looking for an offside flag that never arrived, and Steve Hall – returning from injury – added a fourth in added time following a good run from sub, Saul Henderson.

Droylsden visit the Millers’ neighbours, Glossop North End on Tuesday, which is followed by another short haul to Mossley on August Bank Holiday.  In between those games is a tricky away FA Cup Preliminary Round tie at Barton Town Old Boys in North Lincolnshire.
