EVO-STIK NPL Division One (North)

Saturday 5 September 2015

By Gary Owen

A keenly contested encounter saw neither side able to grab an elusive winner, with Droylsden reduced to ten men for the final fifteen minutes when George Bowyer saw red for a high challenge on Jacob Gregory.

The Dolly Blues took a deserved lead just after the half hour mark when Ryan Winder found Aaron Taylor in an onside position to drill low past Craig Ellison.

The hosts drew level as Steve Hall bundled home from close range following an exchange of passes between Bowyer and Fernando Moke.

Droylsden grew in confidence and pressed hard for a winner, yet City also had three late chances against the ten men, but it finished honours even, which was a fair reflection of the game.
