DROYLSDEN 2 – 1 OSSETT ALBION

Emirates FA Cup – First Round, Qualifying

Saturday 12 September 2015

BY GARY OWEN

The Bloods did it the hard way, coming from behind thanks to a second half Steve Hall brace.

Danny South gave Albion an early lead when he was given the freedom of the Droylsden box to head a corner firmly past Craig Ellison.  The visitors then went close to doubling their lead, Connor Brunt’s first time effort tipped over by Ellison, and the same man hit the bar when a defensive slip put him through.

Ellison came to Droylsden’s rescue again, saving with his legs from Brunt, and then denying Connor Bower, providing the platform for Hall to turn the tables.  His first came when he found himself on the end of a Brandon Zibaka pass to round Brett Souter.

The winner came eight minutes from time when Hall smashed a left-footed effort past Souter to secure the win.
