Droylsden 0-0 Blyth Spartans
Evo-Stik NPL Tuesday 10th September 2013

Despite the blank scoreline, this game was an entertaining one overall, and gained Droylsden their second point of the season, but it does leave Droylsden joint bottom of the table with Stafford Rangers.
Possession was fairly evenly split, but it was Yannick Nlate in the home goal who was kept the busiest, with a string of excellent saves warranting his recall.
He was called into action as early as the third minute to tip over a curling effort from Daniel McGuire after he had been teed-up by Craig Hubbard.
Droylsden responded well and should have taken the lead five minutes later.  Luke McCarthy was presented with an almost identical opportunity to that he encountered at King's Lynn - rounding the home keepr, but facing a tight angle.  On Saturday, he elected to shoot - this time he squared the ball to Dylan Maloney, who dwelled too long and the chance was lost.
Spartans went close from a corner kick, and Nlate was smartly down to his right to deny Adrian Wearmouth, before thwarting Hubbard just before the break.
Moments after the re-start, Domaine Rouse stung the palms of Conor Grant, before Carlos Rouse-Edmondson and Nlate blocked from Wearmouth and McGuire, respectively.
Maloney then recorded two shots just off target for the hosts as the match began to swing from end to end, but Nlate was again soon in action, this time saving from Hubbard in a one-on-one situation.
Nlate saved from Robbie Dale and McGuire (again), but in the end there was no goal to cheer the home faithful nor the travelling contingent of Spartans fans, with both teams having to settle for a share of the spoils.
