DARLINGTON 1883 5 – 2 DROYLSDEN

EvoStik Northern Premier League – Division One (North)

Saturday 4 April 2015

by Gary Owen

It looked as though this could be Droylsden’s day in the Bishop Auckalnd sunshine, as firstly the usually reliable Nathan Cartman missed an open goal for the exiles, and then Ciaran Kilheeney beat peter Jameson with a shot off the post to put The Bloods ahead, all inside the first ten minutes.

DROYLSDEN 4 – 3 BAMBER BRIDGE

EvoStik Northern Premier League – Division One (North)

Saturday 28 March 2015

by Gary Owen

Brig’s play-off hopes suffered a set-back as Droylsden completed a league double in appalling conditions.

Things started well for the visitors as Daniel Mahoney put them ahead from the penalty spot, but Fernando Moke poked home an equaliser barely a minute later.

Sam Hillhouse then beat two to set up Michael Monaghan to put The Bloods ahead, and it was soon 3-1, but in bizarre fashion.  Mahoney lofted the ball back to Lee Dovey, who slipped and the ball rolled over the line for an own goal.

Alistair Waddecar reduced the arrears shortly after the break, and Brig pushed hard for the equaliser, with Waddecar hitting the post, but Ciaran Kilheeney broke away to make it 4-2 on 90 minutes, with Glenn Steel bundling home Brig’s third deep into added time.

EvoStik Northern Premier League – Division One (North)

Tuesday 24 March 2015

by Gary Owen

Droylsden’s flickering play-off hopes were all but extinguished in this second consecutive home stalemate, and it will be the Yorkshire men who will consider themselves most unlucky, being denied by numerous clearances off the line and woodwork strikes.  The Bloods, on the other hand, failed to test Jacob Giles in the Town goal.
