The amount represents half of the donations from the sponsored walk that the Supporters' Club undertook around all of Droylsden's pubs last May.  Each year, a different charity is chose as the part-beneficiary (with Supporters' Club funds netting the other half), and this time around the charity was the Sick Children's Trust, who finance the provision of accommodation for parents of sick children who are hospitalised for long periods.
