DROYLSDEN 1 – 2 OSSETT ALBION
EvoStik NPL Division One (North)
Saturday 30 January 2016
Albion recorded their first win of 2016, but Droylsden will win more than they lose on this performance. For all the hosts’ possession, it’s goals that win games, and a five minute second-half brace from Rob Bordman snatched the points.
Both sides struck the woodwork in the opening period, Ben Barber striking the post with a deep cross for the hosts, and Dominic Riordan heading against the bar for Albion from Bordman’s corner.
The Bloods took the lead via the penalty spot through Ben Barber after his cross was adjudged to have been handled by Kieran Thompson.
However, Bordman beat Ben Hampson to chip the exposed Steve James for the leveller, and the same man forced a rare error from Jacob Wood to round James for the winner.
