Droylsden recorded only their second win of the season in entertaining style with this seven goal feast.  However, it was Cables who looked like party spoilers early on, as they took an early grip on proceedings with skipper James McCulloch side-footing home from Joe Edgar’s low left wing cross.

Regrettably, The Bloods failed to capitalise on their recent FA Cup exploits, and capitulated to another heavy defeat – but things might have been very different had Shaquille Clarke-Adams not seen red for hauling down Chris Gangan when last man, and Scott Metcalfe converted the spot kick to set Town on their way to a comfortable victory.

Ahead of that, Fernando Moke – now departed for Scarboroguh Athletic – could have put Droylsden ahead, but he delayed his shot with only Karl Wills to beat,a nd the chance was gone.

Brandon Zibaka was then unlucky to see an equaliser ruled-out for a marginal offside decision, but Metcalfe was soon at it again, exchanging passes with Gangan to slot past Craig Ellison.
