However, this time, the defeat was of the narrowest of margins, and Dave Pace’s men even took the lead for the first time in a month, when Carlos Rouse-Edmondson poked home after good work by Billy Hasler-Cregg and Domain Rouse.

On a night where Droylsden were looking to recover from their drubbing at Northwich 2 days earlier, The Bloods’ defence went AWOL on too many occasions to give their hosts an easy ride in West Yorkshire, resulting in another eight goals being shipped, only this time with no reply for the chilly Bloods’ faithful to cheer.
